Have you seen the documentary, May I Be Frank? If your answer is no, then you need to watch it; it will really make you think about what you put in your body each day. If your answer is yes, I ate at Café Gratitude! If you know me you know that this is kind of a big deal.
Café Gratitude recently opened a restaurant in Kansas City. I happened to be in town visiting family so this was on my to-do list. If you’re not familiar with this restaurant, it supports local farmers and locally grown organic produce. The food is real and the experience is amazing. I highly recommend you visit this restaurant. I had the “I am Fortified” which contains quinoa, sautéed vegetables, and I chose Thai almond for my sauce. It was just spicy enough and very fulfilling.
Each day Café Gratitude has a question and the question when I was there was, “who are you going to acknowledge today?” After much thought, I acknowledged my friends Erin and Molly who were with me when I saw May I Be Frank a couple years ago. While we no longer live in the same city, we still make an effort to talk and see each other whenever possible. In acknowledging our friendship I realized how lucky I am to have such great friends.
Another question that is posed is “What are you grateful for?” Since I was able to enjoy this dinner with my nephews, I thought about how grateful I am for the time I get to spend with them. By the way, I was one proud aunt when both of my nephews tried new foods (“I am Whole” and “I am Magical”) without hesitation. Sometimes that is tough for kids but not these boys!
What are you grateful for?
